Sport Development Consulting

Pathways, coaching systems and competition structures that hold up under scrutiny

Most development problems are not coaching problems. They are structural — a pathway with a gap in it, a competition calendar that works against the training year, or an analysis setup that produces reports nobody acts on.

This work starts by mapping what actually happens rather than what the strategy document says happens, then fixes the structure so the coaching can do its job.

When this is the right call

The pathway leaks

Athletes drop out at a predictable stage and nobody can say exactly why. Usually a transition nobody owns.

Coaching quality varies by postcode

Standards exist on paper but delivery depends on who happens to be in the room.

You collect data but do not use it

Performance analysis exists as a reporting exercise rather than something that changes a session plan.

Common questions

Who is this for?

National federations, regional bodies, academies and clubs — anyone responsible for a development pathway rather than a single squad.

How long does a review take?

A focused review of a single pathway stage is typically a few weeks. A full system review across age groups and regions takes longer and is scoped up front.

Do you work with the coaches directly?

Yes. Structural recommendations that have not been tested against the people delivering them tend not to survive contact with a season.
